Recovery is not a softer workout.
It is a distinct discipline. Forty-five minutes of active control through a full range of motion — building the range and the strength to own it.
You already know what a hard session costs you. This is the programme that makes the hard days sustainable.

A discipline, not a rest day.
It is a distinct discipline. If a Ritual class is about output, Recovery is about ownership of position and breath.
Quality and control, never intensity
Recovery is coached for position and breath. If you are sweating and out of breath, the session has drifted.
Mobility is not stretching
Mobility is active control through a full range of motion. Over a block you build the range and the strength to own it.
Therapeutic, not survival
Foam rolling sits around 5–7 out of 10. It is not a torture device, and nothing here is earned through discomfort.
Forty-five minutes, in the same order every week.
The room learns the sequence, so you stop thinking about what comes next and start paying attention to what you are doing.
Deep-squat assessment · 1 min
A baseline, not a test. No cues yet — you just notice how the squat feels and take a mental picture of it.
Diaphragmatic breathing · 2 min
Supine 90/90. Slow nasal inhale, 360° rib expansion, long exhale. Breath is the spine of the session.
Tissue prep · 10 min
Foam roll to prepare the body to move — not to “break up knots”. We’re searching, not scrubbing: about an inch a second, and let gravity do the work.
Movement prep · 6 min
T-spine extensions and hip CARs — taking the joint through the biggest circle you can make while the rest of you stays perfectly still.
Movement skill · 18 min
The main work: 90/90 positions, shin-box rotations, a deep supported squat, dead bug from iso to dynamic. Own every position rather than rushing through it.
Integration flow · 5 min
Cat/cow, down dog, world’s greatest stretch. Move with control instead of chasing range of motion.
Recovery reset · 3 min
Long-exhale breathing, four seconds in and six out, to down-regulate before you leave.
You find out inside one session.
Recovery bookends itself. The deep squat you took a mental picture of in the first minute, you take again in the last.
“What’s one thing that feels different now than it did 45 minutes ago?”
The question every Recovery session ends on
No before-and-after photo, no six-week wait. The evidence is the same movement, done twice, three quarters of an hour apart.
You already have what you need to book it.
Recovery is not a separate membership and there is nothing new to buy. In Emily’s words: “they can use their membership credits for Longevity 8 or for Ritual 8 to sign up for recovery sessions.”
- Booked with the credits already on your membership
- Longevity 8 or Ritual 8 credits both work
- Two sessions a week in the pilot — Monday and Thursday
- 45 minutes, same structure every week
Before you book.
I’m not flexible enough for this.
That is the reason to come, not the reason to stay away. And the homework Emily gives at the end of every session is deliberately small: “You don’t have to stretch. Just spend ten minutes sitting somewhere other than the couch.” The first ten minutes of TV, on the floor, moving between whatever positions you can find — cross-legged, 90/90, long sit, kneeling, side sitting. Nothing forced.
Is this just a rest day?
No. Recovery is a distinct discipline with its own progression. You are working — on control, on position, on breath — rather than on output.
Will it make my hard sessions worse?
The opposite is the point. Recovery is the programme that makes the hard days sustainable.
What does a session actually feel like?
Slow. Deliberately so. Everyone gets slowed down, including people who arrive keen to work. That is the session doing its job.
Does this use up my training credits?
Yes — Recovery is booked with the same Longevity 8 or Ritual 8 credits you already hold. There is no separate Recovery membership to buy.
Should I swap a hard session for it, or add it?
That is a conversation for your coach, and it depends on what your week already looks like. Bring it up at the studio.

If you are already training with us, Recovery is a booking, not a decision. Use the credits you have.
